When we first moved into this house there were no flowers or shrubs decorating the front of the house. Apparently the realtor had convinced the previous owner to rip out all of her mature azaleas, telling her they were an eyesore. Well, I love azaleas, and the thought of that happening makes me sad. However, my hubby and I got busy planting a variety of plants in front of the house. Yesterday when I was walking the dogs, I noticed a peony shrub in full bloom, hidden by a lilac bush! I don’t know what possessed my hubby to plant a lilac (although in his defense the lilac was just a four-inch twig when we planted it and I’m sure he thought it would shrivel up and die) in front of a peony!
I pointed that out to him and asked him to transplant the peony in the near future so we can enjoy the blossoms and fragrance next spring. I love flowering shrubs, and want to enjoy them all when they are in bloom!
