Selling a used musical instrument is not easy

When Chuck told me that he wanted to sell his trumpet, I had mixed emotions. We had spent a lot of money on that, and I knew that we would never be able to get anywhere near that price for it. But he has not used it in over five years, and it was just collecting dust. Selling it made sense.

We drove to the nearest musical instrument shop to talk to the owner about how much a reasonable price would be to ask for the trumpet when we listed it in the paper for sale. While the shop owner talked with Chuck I walked around the store and checked out all of the cool yamaha keyboards that they had on display. My father would really have enjoyed playing one of the newer keyboards they have on the market!

Harvesting Videos

When I first tried Youtube, I liked skipping around their site and finding all kinds of videos for the music that I like. Then I realized that Youtube does a lot more than just music videos. It does clips from commercials, homemade movies, and tutorials on thousands of interesting subjects. There are a bunch of videos that I’ve watched over the years that I wish I had downloaded to my PC so I could watch them again later or use them for reference. But I couldn’t figure out any way on the Youtube site to save the video or download it to my PC or copy it to a DVD.

That’s when I started asking around and one of my Tekkie friends told me about a web site where you can download a free YouTube downloader. That is exactly what I was trying to find – and here it is!

The same site does other things, too. Like they have a YouTube to Video Converter and Video Converter Software for editing what you harvest from Youtube and making it your own. I can see a lot of good uses for this software for business presentations to hobby projects – I’m glad someone figured out how to do what I was hoping to accomplish.

The Wedding Dance

This video was on YouTube and I loved it. This is the kind of imagination for a unique wedding that really catches your attention. These types of planned and well practiced wedding dances are becoming very popular, you can find so many videos on YouTube of them. Some weddings are so darned boring, something like this can really liven things up and get the party started and other people up on the dance floor, where they belong when they are attending a wedding reception.

Congrats to the bride and groom!

Halloween Karaoke

This year I have been asked to help round up some karaoke stuff for our annual Halloween party at work. We don’t go all out for the Christmas holidays at work because people are all ready over whelmed at that time, so we really do it up big for Halloween. We haven’t ever ventured into Karaoke, so this will be very interesting and hopefully very entertaining. I’ve found a lot of cool stuff online today, www.acekaraoke.com seems to be on the top of the list at this point. I don’t have much time and don’t want to have to spread myself too thin so tomorrow I’ll show what I have come up with to my manager and take it from there. It should be a blast. I’m gonna try and take plenty of pictures this year, since last year no one thought to bring a camera except for a few cell phones that take some pretty crappy photos. And we had so many cool costumes last year. Can’t wait to see how absurd some of my co workers get this year.

Now That’s a Good Bugera

Wasn’t quite sure what a good Bugera amp really was when my sister asked me to help her find a good Bugera amp online in time to give to her middle son for his 16th birthday on November 15th. But it didn’t take long by going online and doing a bit of research to find out what the heck this particular Bugera is all about and I did find a good one that I think they will all be happy with. If not I guess it can be returned. Let’s hope it doesn’t come to that though. Such a let down and a pain in the rear to have to return something no matter how easy the company makes the process.
