Payment Fraud is on the rise, and it does not care who you are or what you are. Last night I was looking over some of my credit card statements and found several charges on it that I had not authorized. Ironically, this was the credit card company that had just sent out a new credit card to me with a new account number. They had done that without my requesting it, they had simply decided that it was time to issue new cards with new numbers as a way to reduce the risk of payment fraud. Yeah, right. So I had to call the credit card company, report the charges and have them close the account and send me a new card. I’m glad I took the time to check the statement before I paid it! Sometimes I don’t have time to do that!
